If Nicki Minaj is expecting an apology from New York Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg following yesterday’s Summer Jam fracas, wherein the Young Money rapstress pulled out of her appearance after the morning personality trashed her hit “Starships”, she’ll be waiting a long time. Rosenberg hit this air this morning full of fight, and showed no signs of backing down from his comments.
Furthermore, video from yesterday’s event has surfaced showing fellow Hot 97 DJ Funk Flex taking verbal jabs at Minaj during his set.
“Hey, I went out there, I was hosting, I was in the zone of doing real hip hop,” Rosenberg said on-air this morning. “I just said what came to mind and everyone made a big deal about it… Now the Barbz are all hitting me and asking me to apologize. There’s a get-me-to-apologize movement, to which I can say… I’m absolutely not apologizing because I didn’t do anything wrong.”
The drama began on stage at Summer Jam yesterday when Rosenberg stated the following a few hours before Minaj’s scheduled performance: “I know there are some chicks in here waiting to sing along with ‘Starships’ later. I’m not talking to y’all now. Fuck that bullshit. I’m here to talk about real hip hop shit.”
Nicki’s Young Money label boss Lil Wayne then tweeted the following in response: “Young Money ain’t doing summer jam.”
